5000K D1S anyone?
Had any one replaced their stock 4300K xenons with the 5000K yet? Looking for a more cooler, more pure white color and the 6000K that I used to have is too purplish.

I thought 6000k was pure white?
I would like to know this as well, as I am in the market for pure white looking D1S too.

My experience with the 6000K is that when it turns on, you can see a purplish a hue with the white and it looks more blue than white if you look into the projectors.

i've never even heard of 5000K D1S bulbs! Everyone seems to just make it in multiples of 2s, but hey, i know some people would love to keep more of the brightness but change the color to a better match for our angels

Here's a comparo pic for everyone:
More: 4300K (stock temperature): 5000K: 6K versus 4100K (almost stock color): See how much loss of usable light there is when going to a 6k bulb? All pics from my friends at HIDPlanet.com

Guys keep in mind that cameras will auto white balance so taking photos of light without a) presetting the WB or b) having a comparison is pretty useless.

It's pretty useless, but I have already seen 6000K (too purple) and 4300K (too yellow) myself, so I'm settling for something in between. Just need an idea how the 5000K wedge in between the two.

not much choice for 5000k...which brand are you looking at? Seems all the big name brand from Japan like Piaa, Bellof, Philips use 6000k.

Bellof I believe is coming out with a 5000K D1S soon, so I'm waiting for that. Otherwise, it would be the eBay stuff.

I think it's mislabeled. There's no way that yellow is 4100K.

If you look at the picture you see a 2xxx which is most likely 2000k, just not in the pic.

yeah 5000k bulbs are hard to come by.. esp in D1S.. I do have the 5500K H11 Xenon bulbs for sale if you want matching fogs.
EDIT: nevermind, you have E92 |

+1 on the EAS bulbs. Also, are GP thunders for D1S okay brand? I know everyone loves the H8 7500K and the 8500k. But how are the D1S quality?
