Rough Idle - SES P0301 Cyl 1 misfire - 45k miles

Like the title states ... I have a P0301 cylinder 1 on '07 328i with 45,560 (or so) miles (BPC tune)

Car started fine ... idled fine on start-up until the idle dropped, then it started to have a rough idle. The idle continued after restart. Drove to AutoZone to have the code read (P0301). Continued to rough idle at restart and sputtered a bit.

I'm guessing (hoping) it's either a coil or plug ... I've read that plugs have gone at about 45k miles before, but not coils. I just am curious if this is typical and should expect to replace the plugs about every 45k miles. Also does having the BPC tune shorten the life of plugs?

No the tune doesnt change the life of the plugs. Some people started posting that recently and its total BS.

Replace the coil in the bad cyl and move on.
