Thumbs up Excellent place for the Oil Cooler

I think BMW did a very good job when they put OC in that spot
I was pushing it hard the other day just to make sure it will not throw a limp mode with newly installed V3. And I noticed that it didn't go higher than 230-235C.

On my e92 with FMIC and stock OC , I easily hit 255C. That's how it should be on 335's.

my current setup is similar but I haven't noticed much of a temperature difference. I think the 335i oil cooler just isn't as efficient as it could be.

I would say it is more the much larger opening that keeps the temps down than the location of the cooler in the duct. I mean hell the opening is roughly twice the size of the E9X. That's assuming the oil coolers are similar size. If the X6's OC is bigger than the 3ers then even better.

Your also talking about a different engine then the N54. The oil cooler is only engaged after temps rise higher then a certain point. The thermostat may just be set lower on the X6. Also the larger opening will help push more air through thus helping the efficiency of the oil cooler. The X6 is a great platform. Cant wait to see what the, "tuners" will do with it.

I'm pretty sure only the N54 is available in the X6 currently. The TTV8 wasn't out yet last I heard.
