Ouch... You are gonna need a new rear quarter panel, new side skirt, and from the looks of it a new door skin at the minimum... From the look of where they hit, you probably want to be sure the rear hub or axle isn't damaged either.

The rear quarter panel may be integrated, not entirely sure on the construction method on the BMWs. If so it may be a repair instead of a replace. The door may just need some repaint and blending too, but it looks bent? ...

Best of luck, sorry for your mess.

it's gonna be a couple grand i bet.

I hope you know who it was? Their insurance should be covering it all.

So sorry to hear. Based on your description, looks like it was a hit and run scenario? With all the snow, somebody probably skid into your car and just took off. Best bet is to find a good body shop to quote you a good price for this. Keep us posted..

Yea..., I'm sad tho.
The quarter panel needs replacement body shop says cut the quarter panel from mid as the front is stick to the front window? Is it legit?

The door has an inward dent
The side skirt is chipped
The wheel well is damaged

Worst thing is it takes 1 month to fix

Shit happens
Fix & sell, personally I couldn't live with a repair like that no matter how good it looked after.

That's legit - can be cut instead of replacing whole panel (it's huge).
They'll probably give you a new door skin if they can't bend it back.
They won't be able to repair the wheel to 100% given the finish, so maybe your insurance will pay for a new wheel too.

It's unfortunate it was a hit and run.

Get your repairs done from an authorized BMW body shop - have them take pics along the way - that way when you re-sell you have everything and the buyer knows the repairs were done by the best possible shop.
It's not mechanical damage, so that's awesome - it won't effect the way the car runs at all.

Looks closer to 10k damage to me .. maybe 7/8k. A little fender bender from an idiot truck running a stop sign on me was 3600 to my junk WRX.

That's really lousy man. What a shitty thing to walk up to. I'd have to sell the car...

I hear ya man, totally. I hit a deer on the way home Monday night; wasn't too fast, the deer even survived (initially at least) and from the looks it just broke one of the kidney grilles. Still completely ruined my day as my car was "perfect" up until then...

I can't even imagine walking up to that damage and no one in sight, that's gotta be horrible. I hope they can fix it well and give it back to you basically like new

Terry, it's just a mass produced car so no need to 'cry' and considering you're in Mass.... so expect a few bumps, dings, and grinds. Parts are easily available and she can be fixed.

Yea...
Well...

Ever since yesterday, when I see a white bmw or even a 428i F32, I become sentimental.. and my gf would be like" hey, that's your baby bmw ..''

And now I'm driving my gf's beetle to work. Higher ride. Body rolls. Super light steering when cruising lol. And Damn no turbo spool.
There was literally Zero record of car accidents or scratches in my life. And this just happened to me all of a sudden when I woke up haha.

Hope it can be fixed well. And actually yesterday at the body shop I'd been thinking about m4 fenders. A bad idea? Hah

I'll keep you posted

Yea, had to go through insurance. And it's taking forever for the adjuster to come- 1 month as the body shop estimated
