I was told this when looking at a new 335i
"since March 08 BMW has put a new version of the ECU in the car the MDE v81 which has tune detection built into it and will either reduce the cars power should it detect a piggyback and/or sends a message to BMWNA when they hook the car up for service voiding the warranty" Could this put an end to all the vs threads? |

wrong, almost all the tuners have a fix around this.
all the new programs and DME's do is look at more parameters and look at them more closely/narrower. this is pretty old news and its becoming history. M3 still dont breath a sign of relief |

considering the m3 is a natuarally aspirated v8, your not going to get much more than 10 ponies no matter what the ecu tune is. The 335's can get massive gains in hp and tq because they're turbo'd and the tune increases the boost
