AUX Problems

Iput in the AUX kit from BMW. The one that plugs into the ashtray. Triple checked the wiring(I had to take the connectors out of the provided plug and insert them in the existing plug on the back of the radio). I get nothing out of my Ipod. The mode switch is in AUX. I bought this car used and I believe he had a Dice unit in here previously. I'm I doing anything wrong?

Since I'm not getting anywhere with my question. I'll ask another one.
Is there any way to check the cable? I unwound the tape and there is a small circuit board connected to two of the wires. I hate to think I spent 75.00 for nothing.

Are you sure you're connecting the wires to the right pins? It must be white/red=3, white/blue=4 and white/brown=10. Without the cable installed you should get only radio and CD options in your "mode" cycle. If the pins are attached correctly, you will get an AUX option between CD and Radio.

I get the AUX option on the screen, but nothing from the Ipod. Tried different kinds of cords and Ipod's to no avail.

Ok that makes it narrower! The problem must be the AUX cable or the F-stereo connector. I would go after the connector first. Is there a way you can "borrow" an AUX cable from someone else for testing?

I just got through removing the cable and ashtray to return to Bav Auto for replacement. I'll try a new one. I did notice that even tho I removed the cable my radio still hs the aux tab on the screen.

Let us know how things go once you get the replacement installed. I've considered ordering this in the past, but wasn't sure since I didn't see any reviews about the sound quality...Good luck

I received the new cable today, tried it, nothing. It must be something in my radio. I give up. I'm gonna sell it and try something else.
