Performance Intake problem

Just checking on my 325i engine and noticed that the Carbon Fiber piece that brings the air to the actual intake box broke(disintegrated...). Is this a common issue with them? One being sold on Ebay right now has the same problem....

Anyone has had this issue before? Not planning to buy another BMW intake...not at 770+ price...

Any help would be appreciated...Thanks!

JESM.

Had mine for about 15k miles or more. No issues. That’s weird.

Pics? Sorry to hear it, that's definitely disheartening when you spend so much on something.

I just checked eBay and didn't see the one you're referring to. The only used one I could find was just straight up missing the ducting piece that bolts to the bottom of the CF piece.

Got me thinking.. could I use this (auctioned intake) for parts?? Heh. But, unfortunately, no. After carefully studying, the euro PI and usa PI do not share the same top piece. =(

Must not have been installed correctly. Mine's like new after six years and >45K miles.

Intake

Thanks again for all your replies....I thought this might have been a known issue with PI. Anyhow...any ideas what I can use now? I have the Performance intake box without any issues...what duct can I use to make it work again?
The 330i one?
Or just buy another non-BMW intake?
When people install the Euro Box does it come with duct part or you just use the one included stock in the car?

Thanks again,
JESM

You can use the stock inlets and duct pipe with the actual box, should fit fine.

If you're talking about the snorkel that leads from the grills to the airbox, it's a different size than the std intake. The stock snorkel won't mate up with the airbox, too small.

What about the 330i one? Would that attach to the Performance Intake box?

Thanks again, JESM.

No, sorry, the PI dimensions are unique.
