M3 vs Modded 335i
Just got done reading a thread and I thought I'd let yall know.
I've beaten 2 e92 and 1 e90 M3 to date. Ive also driven the e92 and the e90 M3, and my mother is getting an e93 M3 thanks to a ride I gave her in one. Simply amazing cars. I have a V3, intake, diverters, intercooler, suspension, LSD, you name it its on the car; also minus 100lbs or more. I also have an MT, remember with the MT the rear end is a 3.08, on the auto its a 3.46, the auto is significantly faster. On the M3 the rear end (manual has same tranny gearing) is a 3.83, that means you have to be making quite a bit of horsepower to keep up; but I kill it on torque, HP, straightline acceleration, and the procede lets me hold boost (The holding boost thing lets me gain a car length on 997 turbos from 2nd to 3rd and 3rd to 4th in first and second they are literally on my ass or climbing by me). The dinan cars, even the dinan S3, will not beat the M3. Definitely something that was a little intentional. With that said: 1) Dinan guys, Just because you went that route and cant beat the e92 doesnt mean it's not an easy feat. 2) The BMW M3, needs more torque, fun as hell to drive, gotta love the rumble, but it lacks the 335i's power. 3) The BMW 335i, is still and always will be a force to reckon with.... 4) I'd like to address http://www.webridestv.com/showvideo.aspx?video=79736 It leaves room for an LSD and several other mods, videos arent the guru of the car world, neither are magazines, lol motortrend and C&D

yo robertbog, how much have you spent on your ride, and how many miles do you have on it? Obviously you're an experienced modder and probably don't have any warranty left...
do you have any vids/dynos of your car? |

going off topic, look at my threads through my profile, look for e92 m3 stoplight showdown, keepin it short, it was about a couple MPH roll to about 90-100mph, i beat it by about a car length.

lmao cunt... it just doesnt add up is what im saying... plenty of people will tell you the same... if a Dinan car can't beat an M3 than SSTT can't either because they're in the same ballpark... if i'm not mistaken there was a video lurking around comparing the m3 to the dinan s3...

sorry to the OP for off topic...
read my thread completely, it was a short race, he had a extra passenger or two, and he was MT. racing from a roll to 100mph with these cars are nothing. FWIW, at the track couple weeks ago, two m3's that were there couldnt break into the 12.8's or below. i did twice |

my cousin is a general manager at a bmw dealer and brought an m3 home. we all went out for sushi and were racing around and I beat him by a nose to 100 twice. The m3 was a six speed and my cousin is a good driver. all I have is an sstt and bmc filter. My cousin was shocked.I really have no reason to lie, honestly I could care less becuase I'd still MUCH rather have the m3 but I did win both times.

Perhaps you missed it....the 335i was slower by 4 mph in that video. You don't buy the M3 for power (or any M car for that matter).... You buy it for the package. Good luck to all who think they can out-tune BMW ///M in handling by slapping on coilovers

Good video. It looks really hot out there. I think the auto would have done way better in the 1/4 mile

This thread is cracking me up. So many people are referring to the WebRides TV video as if it were the Gospel. In the video, doesn't the guy say that both cars ran in the 13.20s? WTF? They both should be faster than that.
The ///M3 is the better car overall. Pure and simple. At the end of the day, if I had the choice of either an S3 Dinan or M3, I'd take the C63. |

Sorry, I meant 4 mph slower in the slalom....that is big.... suggests some suspension tuning is needed on the 335i.
