Is the body of the M5 any wider than the M550?

My E63s is wider than the regular E43 in the front with wider wheel arches to fit the wider wheels is this the same with the F90 M5 where the front is wider or is it the same body?

M5 is .5 inches longer, 1.4 inches wider and .2 inches higher than the M550i.

I think it must be the shape of the double hump CFRP roof.

Perhaps. But compared to the 540i and M550i the height increase would be more like 0.6in and 0.5in respectively, based on the standard wheel packages (give or take front to rear). Given the M5's different suspension, tires and roof, it clearly is a combination of all factors.
