HKS Exhaust Installed on E92
I'm a new e90post member and I just thought I'd share some pictures. I was in the right place at the right time and had the HKS prototype "production" exhaust installed on my car. This was the first exhaust made using the production tooling and they needed a car to test fit it on. It's all 304 stainless steel with titanium tips. The quality is superb (you can tell just from the CNCed flanges). It sounds awesome -- especially under load. I can't compare it to other exhausts because I haven't heard them in person, but it does sound like an exotic.
Here's the sound clip (added 6/8/2008): Here are some pics. Last edited by usc335; 06-08-2008 at 06:43 PM.. Reason: Added sound clip |

Nice exhaust. I would just paint those cans flat black.

No sound clips! If you a test fitment car, why did HKS not record vids for their own records?

Not into the muffler design. As stated by akack79 they definitely show to much. Gives the whole thing the negative RICE factor.
Pass on this one.

The sound clips from SP Engineering don't do the sound of the exhaust justice. I'll try to borrow a video camera and make a sound clip this weekend.
The exhaust actually isn't as "visible" or shiny as it looks in the pictures. I didn't notice it before, but the low angle and the camera flash make it look like that (I was trying to get pictures of the exhaust). |

i dont know why everybody's crying about polished mufflers, its not like exhausts on this car give you that much of a performance gain (not like DPs) so I would like some 'bling' factor w/ the exhaust.
Also since performance is negligible on this car, what other reason would you want exhaust other than the 'noise'?? Its not for the great performance, you dont want the aesthetics....so you want noise??? that in itself is RICE... |
