How accurate is the HP/TQ meter

So today I actually remembered to look at HP/ TQ meter display when I got on it... It pegged the needle @320HP and 315TQ.... just curious how accurate it was... and if it is accurate... sweet!... Come'on MHD!...Hurry up!... lol...

P.s. this was on 87octane...still trying to burn off the free tank of gas from the dealership before I throw 93octane in it...

I think it is just based on official specs and shows the official number based on the rpm. It is not actually measuring the hp and tq like a dybo as you are driving and so does not adjust for barometric pressure, humidity, altitude and temperature which affects performance.

Please correct me if I'm wrong... just want to know the right answer... I thought there was a torque sensor on the transmission... then it can calculate HP... right??? I read about the trans sensor relating back to how BMW knows if you modified it or not...
