Unlock Hidden Menu - Instrement Cluster

The old way of unlocking the instrument cluster was holding the trip reset button on the cluster and scrolling down to 04 - Unlock. Adding up the last 4 digits of your VIN (my case 13) and pressing the reset button again until 13 shows and then holding. Then voila, the menu opens.

Just tried this on my 2017 LCI. The menu option had changed to 10 and I tried entering 13 again, but nothing!

What is the new way of opening the locked menu on the instrument cluster?

It is designed for factory testing and dealer servicing. There is nothing useful that can be changed in the menu anyway. I wanted to try it then decided against it...just wanted to see the animation/cluster test with the LCI/digital option. (big kid here haha) Might as well tell you about the service menu too in iDrive lol:

F30 with (professional) navigation
This implies that you have an idrive controller that can slide up and down

Call up Start (main) menu
• Push controller in up direction for at least 10 s
• Rotate controller, 3 notches to the right
• Rotate controller, 3 notches to the left
• Rotate controller, 1 notch to the right
• Rotate controller, 1 notch to the left
• Rotate controller, 1 notch to the right
• Press controller once
• The Service menu is now added as the last submenu to "Settings"

F30 without navigation, or with Business Navigation
This implies that you have an idrive controller that cannot slide up or down

The instructions are basically the same, but instead of pushing the controller in the up direction, which is not possible, you need to push the controller to the left and keep it there for 10 seconds. So the instructions become;

Call up Start (main) menu
• Push controller in the left direction for at least 10 s
• Rotate controller, 3 notches to the right
• Rotate controller, 3 notches to the left
• Rotate controller, 1 notch to the right
• Rotate controller, 1 notch to the left
• Rotate controller, 1 notch to the right
• Press controller once
• The Service menu is now added as the last submenu to "Settings"

jeffc83 is right there isn't much useful stuff in there either but I'm changing the calibration figure for the MPG measurement. Makes your trip computer a bit more accurate.

I've since found out it's adding the last 5 digits of your VIN (on LCI) to gain access and not the last 4
