Can anyone recommend a good charger that doesn't require power outlet plugged in?

My car is parked at a surface lot and there's no power outlet accessible. But I do have my gf VW beetle parked right next to mine. Can I connect her battery?
Trying to do the OBD unlock and offline flash for my n55 as I got the chance to beta test it. And it is required to have a battery charger. Any rechargeable battery charger for n55 F32?
Thanks in advance

You got a chance to beta test? Lucky. Wish I could beta test. Guess that means N55 won't be releasing anytime soon...

But to help your situation, if you walk into a Walmart or Home Depot, they should have a portable charger you could use. It's like using an external battery for your phone, but it hooks up to your battery.

I thought I read somewhere of someone "jump starting" their car while flashing, like you said, just jumper cables between two cars, non bmw started and "charging" the BMW battery. I personally wouldn't do it but I don't see why that wouldn't work.

They emailed me not to use jump starting charger. Let me quote:

Give it a shot please Make sure you have a charger on the car 20-35 amps of current, continuous charge NOT boost or engine start type. Once you register you get the OTS Map and you can flash it. First flash will also do the unlock.

I was curious as I'm in the same situation... no plug around... I don't see why a portable battery wouldn't work... it will only draw what the computer is using... which is nothing compared to cranking it... it's a direct link hook-up with the portable battery... If you connect at the cable hook up then it's just a parallel battery hook up... I run 14s on my RC helicopter (5foot dia carbonfiber blades)(17hp/12lbs) and run batteries all the time and see no reason why this wouldn't work...

Something like this... it's a 10,000mah battery...

I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that the water pump is running the whole time the unlock is going on, maybe MHD Tuning can confirm?

Ohhh... yes need to confirm... but if it's only a 30minute download .... should be okay.... one guy I read flashed without a charger but with a new battery and was okay... wouldn't hurt hooking it up? .... yea need to figure this out ...

Running jumper leads to the Beetle and leaving the Beetle running the whole time will do the trick perfectly.

Make sure you follow the instruction on charging.. You don't want it to fail during the flash..

I used MHD and the first flash took around 20 mins. I did not do anything for keeping the battery charged. I turned off all lights and the A/C. everything went smooothhh. now flashes take like 5 minutes or less. I think its just a disclaimer so they dont get blamed for a drained battery

TerryGTX are you referring to BM3 or MHD since they both use different methods and unlocking time

Then every comment here in regards to MHD doesn't matter for you
