The M8 option

Does anyone else worry that once the M8 comes out that it will trump the M5 and you will wish you’d got the M8/M8 GC?

i don't know, but the M8 will probably be more at 170K car rather than a 105k car ... supposition ... for probably approximatively the same performance....

No, for that money I'd rather get a 911 turbo instead.

Agreed, M8 price will above US$150K for sure. At that price point, we have many options...

Is this verified? I assumed it would be slightly more than the current M6/M6GC.

Not verified. My assumption. I hope it starts around $115K. Only time will tell...

With the 7 Series priced from $81,300 in its base 740i trim in the U.S., the 8 Series will likely fetch in excess of $90,000, if not close to $100K. Moving over to the V-8 model, given the 750i’s $97,400 sticker, it’s safe to assume that the 8 Series equivalent will probably cost more than $110,000. For reference, the Mercedes-Benz S550 retails from $122,750, so BMW has plenty of room to breath and maybe keep the 850i significantly more affordable. In Europe, the diesel range could start from around €110,000.

So for an m8 fully loaded ... 130-150k seems in target

I can't do coupes so nope.

Plus, if I wanted a coupe, I would explore so many more options at that price range.

Even if it is in the same price range I'd probably still pick the M5. The M8 concept rear looks too much like a Lexus F series to me.

Agree. That price point seems more accurate. So basically 10-20k more than my M5 build out.

The M8 looks great, but it's a big departure from the whole "Wolf in Sheep's Clothing" concept that the M5 pretty much created.

Seriously? Just enjoy your F90. I feel sorry if you live life like this -
it's never enough, there will always be a better car, someone more wealthier than you... Geezus.

m5 with m8 facia ... lol

ok, i'm not a photoshop specialist, but i just wanted to have a little fun. For those who find that the m5 is not aggressive enough look, here is what it would look like (a little) with the front of the m8 ..

Bad attitude you have. We all love lusting after cars or we wouldn’t be on this site. What’s wrong exactly with lusting after the next great BMW model? I think it’s called ambition.

Based on what I've seen already with that M8 GTE that just raced this past weekend, I'd say it's gonna be a pretty badass car. You gotta remember that the new M8 and M8 Gran Coupe represent BMW's new forward design direction which will influence future BMW's as well. The M8 Coupe will feature the same drivetrain as the F90 M5 but should be at least 150lbs lighter. My best guess will be that it will be at least $21k USD more expensive base price than the F90 M5 base price. When the F13 M6 came out the base price was $17k more than the base price of the F10 M5, so its safe to assume the new M8 will be a little more. I just hope that for this M8 the front seats will be a much better design than the last M6 had. The M8 Coupe has been one of only 2 BMW's I've been looking forward to for a long time.

M6 replacement with M8 badge just so that BMW can fund its electric vehicle program....M5 is far greater value!
