Problem with connected/online services - any help/advice appreciated.

I am having an intermittent problem with online/connected services being unavailable (RTTI, weather etc etc).... the traffic defaults to TMC and online services like weather say "no connection" or "not available".

As far as I can make out this is not a problem with my account (CD name and password ok) nor the app end of things. This is, as fsr as I can see, a break in the car connecting to the servers. Like a dropped line that does not reconnect.

I have no error/failure messages other than that.

But I cannot manually log in (times out).

First time, it reconnected the next day. This time, the last communication from the car was when I locked it on the 7th March and it sent the signal to the server to update its status.

I wondered if it might be the sim card in the car (where is it?)... but why randomly drop during the night..?

I did wonder if there might have been outside interference with the link..? The problem occurred both tines now after having been parked in the same place (but not always when parked in that place..)...

Any thoughts/advice on what this might be and possible solutions most appreciated.

Thanks.

Thanks for the feedback... Well, at least it's not just me... And although the app on my phone is logging in, and appears to be working ok, it strikes me that the route planning information it is using is out of date (there was a big blockage on normal route the other day and the app planner still wants to route me around it... )...

Funnily enough, mine came back online for a period tonight (about 7.30 through 8.30) and then dropped off the network again, not recovering the connection as of writing...

It's a pain in the proverbial's, whatever it is...

Quick update... The car is still not connecting to the online services this morning... Can anybody else shed further light on how widespread the issue is (I am assuming that it is affecting a sample of vehicles rather than a complete outage)..?

My understanding it's a significant outage across the network - expect ring a call back at some point to confirm how and when it will be resolved!

Thanks for that... I gave them a call, also... I'll share anything I learn into the thread, also...

BMW customer services in the UK are now listing down details of those impacted, for raising this a group thing... I suggest that anybody having problems give them a call and get your details down...

I’m also having issues but I thought it was because it was a brand new car and just registered, what phone number is best to contact them on?

I started having issues with Online Music.
It's been down for a while and now says I'm not registered.
But now I've realised, the free Deezer subscription was for 12months.

It was registered on the 4th March 2017 so the freebees expired.

It's £160 per annum to renew, so they can stuff that.

The other Connected /Online services seem ok.

Yep, I’ll have to call. No RTTI, no apps. Nothing! My friend’s 340i is fine, oddly. I’m on ID5, and she’s ID6, so don’t know if that makes a difference.

Mine was back this morning, on my commute to work. It all appeared normal. I’ll check tonight to see if it’s stayed working.

And my Dad has lost it on a G30. Seems pretty widespread. A rubbish service for something we’ve all paid good money for. I haven’t had it for any length of time for over a week.

Yeah... I got mine back for about an hour on Saturday night and then it dropped again... was not back when I last checked...

When this is all over, I'll be asking for an extension to my service length to compensate...

Same issues here. Dropped into BMW and they said an update is available from www.bmw.com/update, try that first.

Downloaded it and it's older than the version I already have!

I am on ID6.
