Suspension refresh
Also if anyone knows where the best place to source new oem struts and front mounts (and possibly any other hardware that’s needed) please let me know.

I have 2015 and no noise from suspension
Always check sway bar linkage first. And simple stuff like make sure nothing fell onto the underbody belly pan and that the belly pan isn’t missing any attachment screws. Also don’t rush to change out the struts before you know they’re tired. Last edited by overcoil; 03-10-2018 at 11:14 AM.. |

I have this issue occasionally also, as have others, usually during full lock to the left while reversing. It's apparently normal. Occurs usually on cold wet days. Hope that helps ease any worry.

I have/had that also with the Michelin PSS summer tire (not with the Pilot A/S-3 all-season) in reverse and felt like a stiction issue - perfectly normal.

I've had this on our M240i a couple of times and often occurred on the 135i we used to have. With a sticky tyre and particularly with a tight turn in reverse, tension seems to be built up in the spring and perhaps not completely alleviated by the strut bearing while under load. The spring then seems to move a tiny amount under the rubber pad, leading to the noise as the tension is released. With the 135i it did it for 100,000km and never got worse or caused any issues.
