This tune's warranty is registered to a vin in a car, when you sell it to a second person the warranty does not get transferred. You'd have to call Dinan and buy the warranty for the new vehicle. It's around 1200 if I'm not mistaken to have it transferred.

Not concerned about the Dinan warranty as they don't extend theirs if you've bought the BMW extended warranty.

But I do have a concern about registering a new VIN. Is that necessary?

There is no need to register it if you're not transferring the warranty over, that is the only reason to get a vin involved. It will work perfectly on its own.
