Adding Bluetooth
I've tried to research this myself, but I'm still confused. I'm taking delivery of a new 325xi in a couple of weeks, but didn't get BMW Assist (and therefore Bluetooth). For some reason (confusing text on the BMW website actually), I thought BT was included with the NAV system/iDrive.
 So, the question is -- is is still possible to add Bluetooth somehow? I've seen retro kits, but I don't know what I need. I also read something about all new E90's being pre-wired for BT. Any help appreciated. Thanks.

if you just want BT, and nothing else, i'd just recommend getting one of the 3rd party BT kits and doing it that way. but since you have iDrive, i agree a retrofit would be a much better option. however, i don't know how difficult it would be to install so you'd probably have to go through your dealer about it.

my idiot dealer says he doesn't *think* it's possible - and has yet to get back to me with a definitive answer after i asked him to find out for sure...

if the car is pre-wired for it, it should definitely be possible! hey, at least he didn't shut you down completely...

Thanks for the links, but I still have no idea...
Looks like it's difficult and expensive to retrofit / integrate into iDrive, but are these indeed pre-wired for bluetooth? If so, what do I need to buy to get it up and running?

Also search the forums for HF850 as I think I responded to someone else with some installation tips (albeit in my e46 and NOT an e90). While I installed it myself 'cuz I'm not afraid to take my e46 apart, I'd have gone with a pro on my wife's car (because she is afraid of me taking her car apart). Any good stereo installer could do it in less than an hour because it's only one switched, and one unswitched, power wire, plus some hiding of boxes, tucking of wires, and mounting of the mike and the speaker. Seriously, it's a good product at a good price -- no need to go for the more expensive model now available from Motorola. Mike
