Just got my car back from 2 day full service

hey guys, well i brought my car in for its full service and some other odds and ends that were not working or bugging me.

they did all the work really, really good and i was NOT updated to 29.2, my Idrive is still brownish at the home screen, all my settings are saved and still there, and the service sheet has nothing of any updates listed.

another year of fun.

just wanted to let everyone know just for reference for anyone worried.

so brown idrive is old firmware? or is idrive modular and seperately upgradable?

the brown idrive is buggy as heck. it forgets settings left and right.

and refuses to stop the engine with voice control

well i was reading that in the IDRIVE tech section of the forum, there is a 29.2 page about the idrive and such. i still have my brownish IDrive main menu, but people with 29.2 have a silver color from what i read.

Check your hidden menu and tell me what code you have on it(1.06). if you have 79.50.C1 most likely you have 29.2

im gonna try to go into that tonite....

i was rading and came across this,

When progman is updated on a car, all adaptations are reset.

I got progman 29.2 installed on sat (didnt particularly want it, but it was an open recall on my car).

everything gets reset. preferences, radio presets, etc. it took me a second after opening the drivers door to realize why the rear doors were still locked.

the ECU adaptations have been reset as well, you need to drive it hard to get the adaptations back in line with what you expect.

the exhaust note is louder, and there's now a deep burbling when you let off the gas in a low gear.

did this happen to you.?
