Cold start problem

Hello I’m new here not sure where to post this but I have a problem with my bmw e92 lci 325d n57, I’ve owned the car a few weeks now and every time I start it cold the cabin vibrates and the idle is lumpy the revs jump for around 2 mins until the car gets warm, sometimes it’s worse than this, I had it on a diagnostic and it said the glow control module was at fault so I changed it and 5 glowplugs ( cylinder 3 was seized ) and it still persists what do you think it could be ? Injectors ? The seized plug ? Glow plug wiring ? Fuel filter ? Battery ( only cause it threw up a fault and it was 38% ) any suggestions or help would be much appreciated thanks

Maybe try using a fuel additive. I had a similar problem with my 335d on cold starts and it would also go away once warmed up. Could just be some gelling. I use the optilube winter formula

I doubt there's much gelling going on at 7.5c/45f

Well I'm not really sure. I had a similar problem with my D but it was definitely because I was gelling up since in Maine we had some days below 0 degree F and I just ran some winter blend optilube through it and it took maybe two times filling up and the idle jumping went away...

If you were to sit there and rev it very slowly will the jumping in the idle continue? I remember in mine I would notice it sitting at a light on a cold morning and the rpm would be like jumpy like that all the way up to around 1,000-1,200 rpm then smoothed out after.

Possibly injector(s), but before that I would make sure you confirm good diesel in your tank, filter changed. Then run parameters for rail pressure and rail control valve, it is on at below 19C and may contribute to idle issues if faulty.

Yeah if I sit and Rev it slowly and keep it constant 2k revs it goes away within 20-30 secs, maybe just a jiggle then but no where near as bad if I didn’t rev it at all

I think it’s best I change the fuel filter and give a service the garage told me it had been done but you never really know 🤔

Very weird man... sounds similar to my problem, but definitely worse... The problem for me started after I had just bought my 335d and I know for a fact that my car sat for awhile at that dealership, so mine could of been a bad fuel problem also. Doesn't hurt to maybe run some additive through it for a couple fill ups and see if the roughness goes away.
