no pros unless youre running high high boost, which hasnt been seen on our cars yet

no cons, but some people say the sound is annoying

really its just a noise maker

personally, i like it....many hate it

not recommended with the 335 engine...our cars are not intended to release pressure into the atmosphere like what the BOV does...upgrade your diverter valves instead...

thats not true.

vta bov isnt doing any harm to the n54 because it runs off a map sensor and not a maf sensor.

if you look at our diverter valve, its just recycling the air back into the intake hoses, but there are no sensors reading the air.

Not true at all. Our cars have MAP sensors not MAF. Why do people keep saying this?

BTW I feel like while my BOV hasnt added any power, it has cleaned up my shifts quite a bit making it feel quicker.

Actually there are some cons.

You do have oil going through the entire system, you will get oil all up in your engine bay.

The possibility of keeping the pressure on the turbos with BMW's vacuum system trying to release it, always an issue, more of one with a BOV.

Un-metered air on the MAF (our cars have a MAF and a MAP, the MAF is right before the throttle body, you are welcome to go find it, the MAP is in the manifold, take off your intake to see it, MAF doenst ready pressure it reads quantity), the stock system is closed, you can have idle problems as well as loss of power from a BOV.

Yes you are, you need to keep the system a closed system. With BOV's you are just tossing out oil and air, losing all pressure in the system ect. With diverters the system is a lot more refined, thank you BMW.

You will experience idle problems with a BOV, especially if you introduce any free flow parts on either side of the system. You may be fine if you had just a BOV and an exhaust, but theres no reason, you are just killing power, dirtying your engine bay, and ect. We found that out way back in febuary 2007.

You get to have a lot of people laugh at you the same way they do when they see a 110 hp Honda Civic or Toyota Corolla with a huge wing and a bunch of "Powered by xxxxx" stickers on it.

I guess for a select few that's a benefit.
Other than that, well, ummm, yeah.

Next time someone just copy and paste the 500 other threads that have all of the same exact back and forth crap in it. It might really help this forum not seem like EVERY thread is full of worthless bashing and false information. Thanks.
