PROcede V3 + Terry's O2 simms

Anyone know whether O2 simms from Terry can be used with V3 in any way, plugged into the unit or directly into the ecu harnesses...

Yes you can use them if you already have them. Or you can spend $2 at your local radioshack and install the 3 resistors necessary (instructions coming soon) to do the same job.

Thanks Shiv. If u dont mind just adding a sentence or two on what to do with the existing simms that would be awesome...

Sell them I guess. Less clutter in the ECU bay the better

The first dozen or so v3 PnP kits we've sold had a built in o2 sim. But due to legal concerns, we have removed it. Those who chose to run catless (for off road use only of course) can just follow our instructions on how to make their own and integrate it into the harness. When/if you send your PnP harness back into to us for the Doomsday update, we will remove it as well as perform the update. You can always reinstall a hardware version of the o2 sim using $2 worth of parts from Radioshack (3 resistors). Instructions up soon.

How do we know if we got a V3 with integrated O2 SIM or not?

Thanks

I'll be making a bulletin on our tuning forum explaining all of this. Basically, early release nonDoomsday v3 kits had the integrated o2 sim. These kits did not control fuel pressure and are not intended for 29.2 or MSD81. You can tell if you have this set-up because the relay on the harness will be black.

Doomsday v3 kits, intended for use with 29.2 and MSD81 do not have the o2 sim. They have clear/see-through relays.

Pictures will be up for clarity.

I have one of the bimmerfest v3 pnp's and i'm pretty sure you told me it has the o2 sims on it. Since I don't have any check eng. lights and I am running catless dp's I would have to assume I have the O2 sims... correct ?

Yes, if you got it at Bimmerfest, you have the nonDoomsday harness with o2 sims

Shiv,
The v3 resistor trick for O2 sens. simmulation, will it allow you to have O2 and catalyst readiness, both? What about when using Terry's version?

I think v3 was the only way to get o2 readiness over obd2, but I am not sure.

So I revised the PROcede's o2 simm feature to mimick this trick to the T (easy when you are using a microcontroller for all signal processing). And sure enough, the problem is solved. Within a 10 minute drive, we achieved readiness while preventing any catalyst inefficiency/o2 sensor codes!

I've never personally seen a car that didn't get cat readiness with v3. Either the original version with built-in sim or the $2 hardware version. I haven't really looked into what Terry's does or how it handles readiness.

Im still the bastard child apparently. Ive beat the hell out of this dead horse, but I really wish someone else out there would give some feed back on their catless DPs and I/M monitor status.

So what your saying is that the software side of things (changes you made
a month or so ago, allowing readiness) will still be integrated into V3 maps. Thats good news for the other NC guys who are ready to pull the trigger.

As far as what Terry does... his setup wont allow readiness, it just gets rid of the dash light. So, Shiv, you definately have the one-up on him there.
