Go Fast Bits N55 DV+ installation DIY

Hey guys..

So here is my latest creation, for the full installation DIY of the GFB DV+ diverter valve upgrade! In doing the research for this work, I actually couldn't find *ANY* N55 DV+ installation videos.

Of COURSE I wanted to immediately leap into that gap, and document the process as working with GFB is just fantastic. I had the pleasure of speaking with the owner Brett, who you can see in their product video descriptions, what a great guy!

All in all this isn't a hard project and just needs a few simple tools. I have no doubt you will get it done faster than I did, with the lessons (and couple of new tools I bought in the middle) I learned along the way. A lift like I used would be ideal, but you absolutely can do this on jacks as well.

I believe in both short and long term that it is absolutely worth it. Short term, the rubber internals of that valve can fail under the higher boost pressures that most of us run. Even if you are not, it can wear out over time.

Second, and where the DV+ shines, is in how it modifies the functionality. The valve normally is fully open or fully closed. When it opens to vent, you lose all built up pressure so have to start over fully at the next boost. The DV+ with the metal piston and internal spring will bleed pressure more slowly, not just full open, and pressure will only fall off as needed. That means more still there potentially on next boost, less ramp up to get back to pressure and faster response time.

So yes.. I think totally worth it! 8)

This ^^^

Albeit it's not a "leave you stranded by the side of the road" necessity like a Charge Pipe, VAST majority of the time it's your boost leak culprit...

If you're running higher boost, it's almost as important as a Charge Pipe..

Yeah but that basically applies to anyone with a tune... which would baaasically make it as important as a charge pipe, whih I dont believe it ranks up there in importance.

Actual install took probably 45min, though was longer as I filmed it and mucked around with tools.

Just as a reminder, ALWAYS buy from a reputable dealer like Mike @ XPH. It's really sad when GFB has a video up on how to spot a fake, side by side comparison with their product and some knock off.

Sheeesh!! I didn't know knock-offs of these we so prevalent. I bought mine a while ago from Aristocrat Autosports, which is a US based company so hopefully, I'm good.
