Active Sound

Has anyone tried to disable it in the F90? It was very easy to do in the F80 if you had a HK sound system. You just had to pull one plug and the rest of the sound system still worked perfectly.

Did you do it yourself? If so, could you point me to instructions that worked for you?

Yes, I always code my own as well as others.

Go to ASD module and change to chassis to F020.

I coded that out on my M2 early on, that ASD is just stupid. The drone one the highway was just a pain in my ears. LOL. Much nicer with it off. I like a car to have a nice roar when I want it to, not all the time. Especially cruising on a long trip at 75. One of the nicest things about my RS6 is the SOUND, when you get on it, not all the time.

I'm am online researching the coding options, I have the BimmerCode app and module already.

So far I do not find the ASD in the M5 to be that noticeable. In the M2 it was BAD. LOL.

I have the bimmercode ap at the ready!

Personally, I do not care for it. But, less work if it does not bother you. Which mode do you mostly drive and are you keeping rpm's low?

I have 200 miles on the car. LOL. No high revs yet, but I have it in 4WD Sport and all settings on sport (programed M1 button for that).

In the M2 the ASD was much more noticeable.

So far I am not yet ready to disable it in the M5.

I disabled mine mainly because I am old school. I understand the “benefit”, but I only want to hear actual exhaust music. Sadly, the base exhaust is too quiet and my MSPORT should arrive tomorrow.

Can't wait to hear your thoughts on the difference in volume.

I hope it is significant. Supposed to be an increase of 14dB. Fingers Crossed.

Just coded ASD off and added Video In motion, I don't have a DVD with me to test it yet.

I'll see the sound difference on the way home later.

There was an odd listing under "Headunit", "Start Animation" the pre clicked item was "Christmas". I hope that did not code. LOL>

Video in motion works for all video sources, including USB files and Miracast.
