As there was some interest expressed by forum members in the past for Japan thematic posts here is one I hope you'll all enjoy. I will aim to update each year with a different shooting location and maybe a theme if possible.

For 2018 the location is Aoyama Cemetery, and the added theme is my new limited edition commemorative 2020 Tokyo Olympic license plates.

Thanks for the pictures!

Looking at the license plate, Shinagawa in Tokyo? If so, would be really cool to see a drone shot of the 1M on the Shutoko!

So you read a bit of Japanese? Nice.

License plates in Tokyo are divided into somewhat arbitrary districts. While I don't live in Shinagawa I am in one of the wards (aka ku) lumped into the Shinagawa plate district. My friends and I do take pictures all over Tokyo and the Kanto region, but none of us are drone flyers.

Here's one Shutoko shot of my 1M by an excellent photographer friend of mine that personally drives a classic Honda S800 Coupe.

Very nice! I took a few photos of the cherry blossoms near SkyTree Tower in Tokyo last February. Beautiful area.

Unfortunately he will definitely be arriving at the very tail of the Tokyo season. Tokyo has micro climates and some trees which get less sunshine so if he scours the streets he might find a tree or two. Also might have some luck taking a day trip to cooler mountain and northern climates.

Here's a good resource I just discovered for his reference:

Great Pictures!

Interesting that Japan uses license plates that have the same form factor as those in North America.

I do feel obligated to comment that the front license plate is hideous, and I think it is absolutely horrible that you put a couple of holes in your front bumper to mount this front plate. We will never forgive you.

Japan is a hodgepodge of western influences often with very little rhyme or reason why they adopt one country's word or custom over another.

As for the front plate it is mandatory. I DD my 1M. It's integration into the front bumper is the least worst design. Such is life. I think she's beautiful.

My original photos were untouched other than some simple rotation and cropping. A forum friend who would like to stay anonymous chose these 4 to enhance from originals I shared with him.

PM me if interested in meeting. Another forum member who shall remain unnamed for now is visiting next week. We're planning a Tatsumi Parking Area night visit in the 1M with 2 or 3 friends bringing out their classics.

Definitely will be in touch. Appreciate it.

Me and my mate will be in Tokyo for about nine days. It's his first time. My eighth since Nov 2014 😁

Thanks for sharing! I've always had a fascination with dense metropolitan areas like New York City, Tokyo, and Hong Kong.
