Down pipe install question 340i
When you replace the downpipe on the 340i do you need to replace either the upper/lower clamps like people say on the 335i? Do i need to replace the gasket on the top side? I see that it is different but im looking for 340i specific info or tips. The diagram is of a 340i gt mine is the sedan but i assume it does not matter in this case.

Best way is to look at it before you install. If money
Isnt an issue buy the clamps. Some cars depending on locations with different mileage the clamps needs replacing or not |

You don't buy a 340 if money is an issue

What an assumption...Money is not an issue. Lol ordering parts to get sent to italy and living in a place with little to no storage of parts is an issue. Not having as service center near me is an issue. Not speaking the language is an issue. The issue is I have many things that do not make this situation normal....and because i will be installing myself i wanted to get some info on this.....

Rather, I can afford a 50k+ BMW because money is always an issue. I don't care if I have a million bucks to my name. I refuse to waste time and/or money on something that isn't needed.
I haven't heard of anyone replacing the gasket or the clamps, especially on a 2018 car. If you see any deterioration on the gasket then it wouldn't hurt to buy a new one and install it at a later date, but you can likely still get by with it as is for a while. Typically vbands are designed to be run without any gaskets, so it's somewhat redundant in design. |

I don't have one but trust me, this dp install isn't that bad. The N55 was a lot worse. You will have to take out the intake box and obviously remove the trays underneath but after that you can see both ends of the dp and remove. Just make sure you unplug the senors and take it nice and slow.

So its not on the stock dp although it may have ben built in it looks like a ceramic material coming out of a ring on the stock dp....but the ring is not detachable....so would an aftermarket dp need a gasket it seems to be going well with no issues so far
