Lightbulb Picked up our M40i yesterday!

Woohoo! We ordered our M40i on 2/25/2018 so it took about one month to build and deliver to California. We've only driven it about 50 miles so far, but we are absolutely loving it; very happy with this purchase!

Phytonic Blue with Black Vernasca w/ blue contrast piping
20" 699M wheels
Gray Poplar trim (absolutely gorgeous in person)
Driving Assistance
Driving Assistance Plus
Premium package
Executive package
Wireless charging w/ wifi hotspot
Harman Kardon sound system
Adaptive suspension

Gorgeous ride. Congratulations!

How about some photos of that poplar trim? It's hard to find good pics of the gray poplar.

Congratulations, MostlyHarmless, and thanks for sharing some images! After you've had some time driving I'd be curious for a comparison with your previous F-Pace. I know it had some issues, but mainly from a driving and interior/cockpit feel comparison. Given the F-Pace's ample cargo room, aerodynamics, and light weight (as far as SUV/SAVs go), if they improve on some areas, and with the 570HP around the corner, it would seem at least on paper they could become a major competitor with the G01. Having never set foot in one I have no basis for comparison.

Closer to five weeks, but yes I was very surprised that we got it so quickly!

It can vary based on when your order went in. My dealer had one slot open that was going into production within a few days of placing the order.

Well, we did quite a bit of driving yesterday, including some nice twisties going over Laureles Grade. I can tell you that the M40i is more composed around the corners, has a quieter cabin, feels more solidly built, is noticeably quicker, and has a much nicer interior than the F-Pace.

What I liked about the F-Pace was the exterior style, the cargo space, the rear seat leg room, and the two-tone red/black leather interior that we had; although the M40i may fall a bit short in those areas, it's not enough to be a hindrance at all. For example, the cargo capacity and rear seat leg room are only marginally better in the F-Pace. At the time that we bought it I also liked the infotainment system quite a bit, but I have to say that BMW's is much better; more responsive, more customizable, etc.

If and when Jaguar improves their build quality, interior amenities, and quality of materials then they will become more viable. I'm especially intrigued by the I-Pace electric version of the F-Pace; it looks gorgeous and seems to be very competitively priced against the Tesla Model X. Knowing what I do now about their build quality, however, I wouldn't touch any Jaguar model unless it's been in production for at least 3 years and they have most of their kinks worked out.
