E90 electrical/battery issues

Hi there

I have a 2006 E90 330i which has been unused for about 10 days. I started it today and before I put the key in the ignition I got the symbol of the car on a ramp.

When I put the key in and pressed the start button (without starting), I got a load of warning lights flashing which included handbrake light, abs, dtc and seat belt. The fuel and mpg gauges were fluctuating.

When I eventually started the car it started fine but the lights and gauges continued as before and the Rev counter was fluctuating as well also although the revs were fine. The indicators did not work nor did the folding mirrors.

Is this a battery issue? If so does the battery need charging or replacing?

Or something else?

Thanks in advance

It does sound like a battery issue. How old is it? I'd have it tested.

Hi I’ve not changed it in the time I’ve owned the car so I suspect it may be the original, 11 years old.

Most likely the battery is knackered. They don't last forever.
