Do slip fit exhaust clamps have condensation leaks by nature?

Noticed that i had some condensation leak coming out of the slip fit clamp on my remus axle back.

I double checked after install that i didn't have an air leak, but it wasn't until today that i noticed some drip drip. Did some digging online, and i get a mix of folks saying its normal since the clamps are not made to be water tight.

Was hoping to get some feedback before i started cranking down on the clamp some more

Yes. Quite normal.

How can it leak water but not leak air?

It makes sense to me to try and tighten it, or loosen, adjust, the clamp down.make sure the clamp is close to the edge of the pipe so the lip is properly sealed.

All slip-fit and clamp style exhaust pipes as well as gaskets are not air or water tight. They all leak to some extent.

Maybe theoretically, but I wouldn't expect there to be noticeable drip or air blowing past. Like if there is soot around the edges then there's a problem, right? I had another car with clamp exhasut and switched to vband because of the air leaks and it was much better, but even then i never saw water dripping from it.

Good discussion guys thanks! Basically i wanted to make sure i didn't go back and chase after a tight seal and end up breaking the clamp. Did some digging online and everyone says that you should clamp down the clamp until it is close to fully closed...So i gave it some more tightening, and double checked this morning, no drips of condensation. I'll give it some time to see if it starts to leak again.
