Our tech took off the bumper to make it easier however there are other members on the forum that were able to remove them by releasing the tabs on the backside of the grilles.

I ordered mine from IND and had them all installed last week. They look fantastic. The installer even commented on how great the paint was, as they even painted the outside chrome of the front and read BMW roundels. Unfortunately they still don't have the front lower fascia "boomerang" pieces in stock from BMW yet so I'm still waiting on those (but I already paid for them... I removed the X3 badge and just left this one. Now I need black 20" wheels. Which ones work for this model?? I tried to order some Bayern (sp?) yesterday but the rep said the bolt pattern was not the same and they didn't have any for our models yet. Bummer. Not sure why the pics are sideways. They were straight when I attached them....

My install guys only took off the side trim around the wheel wells the first few notches to be able to pull and replace the front reflectors properly. Other than that, nothing else was taken off.

Yep, I got all of the gray parts from IND, including the M40i on the back in black. I almost went Matte Black because I like that look better, but then I'd be looking at getting all the trim and the roof rails etc all done in matte and that seemed nuts after dropping so much on the car and the IND products/install/new wheels, etc etc. Hoping we have the boomerangs soon so I can ceramic coat the whole thing asap.

Question on these. I talked to the parts guy at my dealership and he showed that the black BMW grilles are out of stock everywhere. However, he also said that on this model, the shutters are attached to the grille. Is this true? And if so, does the IND grille include the shutters?

We stock the M Performance gloss black front grilles here at IND. They do not come with the shutters as they are not needed for the install.

The shutters are separate from the front grille as you can see in our install guide at the 34 second mark. They stay on the car while doing the swap.
