Picking up M40i tomorrow...sneak peek photos

Super excited! She’s on the showroom lot and all ready to go. Appointment is at noon tomorrow. I guess I have some paperwork to sign and then there’s something about a Genius appointment. First BMW so don’t know exactly what that will entail.

I know financing will try to sell extended warranties. I typically self insure these things after the manufacture’s warranty but might opt for Geico’s MBI which is very cheap...if only to have in case something major (engine, transmission, etc) breaks after warranty ends. I’m okay with paying for the usual wear and tear, oil changes, wipers, etc. Financing has already spoken with me a little bit about BMW’s extended warranties and threatened that “any repairs on this car will be much more expensive than what you are used to coming from a Japanese brand.” (I’m trading in a 2011 Subaru WRX.)

As far as financing, I’m paying most of it in cash but did find a great rate with Pentagon Federal Credit Union (2.2%) for 36 months that makes me almost want to pay the minimums! I can earn more than that conservatively in the markets. I have no financial incentive to recommend them either.

Also, ordered custom on March 13th for an idea of the timeframe.

Last but not least, here’s the pictures:

Congrats on the new ride!

If you have been spending some time on these forums, chances are you will know more about your new M40i then the BMW Genius at your appointment tomorrow. Try and be patient lol.

Good Luck!

Haha. I definitely think that will be the case. I’ve been reading and watching everything I can get my hands on. But, I bet it will be useful for my fiancée. Although this will be my main car to get to work, she loved it on the test drive and will be a regular driver of it too.

Yeah, unfortunately that looks like the new location. There’s another thread that discussed that too: https://x3.xbimmers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1484571

Beautiful! looks a lot like mine except I have the mocha interior. Rear end would be identical phytonic blue, trailer hitch... but for the badging change.

what packages/options in your build?

Phytonic Blue under bright showroom lights is not the same thing as Phytonic Blue in any one of two dozen lighting scenarios

Congrats, looks great

I don't get or like the new badge placement at all. If I was getting mine now I'd have to debadge and rebadge.

We went all out. Executive package, driving/parking assistance plus, upgraded speakers, wireless charging, CarPlay, adaptive M suspension, heated front/rear seats. Trailer hitch like you saw. No spare tire to get the extra cargo space.

They should be the 19” all season run flats. I am coming from summer and winter wheels for my WRX so I’ll see how I like them. If they don’t perform as well as I hope, I might end up getting a dedicated winter wheel set.

Well, I got the car! Great so far. Super quiet for me at highway speeds, but I am coming from a Subaru WRX so might be used to a bit more noise than others. Very comfortable too, even in sport mode. Again, I felt everything in the WRX. I’m keeping mostly in comfort or eco mode until it is broken in. I’m also glad I got the floor mats...we’re getting a blizzard in Minnesota so will get to try out the all wheel drive on my ride home from call tonight. More photos when it gets light out. Loving it so far!

Wow your in MN! I did see my first "other" G01 today too (in Eden Prairie) It was an Alpine White X-Line, looked great, but it got away from me before I could snap a photo.

Congrats on loading that thing up. I just love playing with the stuff!

Yep, I’m up in the St. Cloud area but make it down to the cities fairly often.

Nice! Looks exactly like mine except for the stitching, the mats, and the badge placement. You are going to love it... I've had mine for almost 5 months and in love.
