Miles remaining showing on fuel gauge ?
My dealer has just provided me with a new (13 miles on the clock) G30 540i M-Sport pending the delayed delivery of my G01 X3, which has been held up for over 8 weeks waiting parts for the exhaust modification required.
One reason the dealer decided to loan me the G30 was so I could get used to the changes in the tech. over previous models. I noticed yesterday, whilst driving home after picking up the 540i, that the miles remaining in the tank now shows continuously on the fuel gauge. This, of course, on previous models, used to be displayed by scrolling through the information using the BC button on the indicator stalk. Can any of you lucky people who already have your G01 X3 tell me if this is now standard on the G series digital cockpit display ? It seems like a useful and practical idea. Thanks.

The feature is there, but it's in different places depending upon which instrument cluster you bought. On the basic (partially-digital) instrument cluster, the miles remaining is shown at the bottom of the speedometer. On the full-digital cluster (in the Executive package), it's down next to the fuel gauge.

Here are a few photos from a trip last Fall, allachie9. I used it then to share the mpg after 120 miles with cruise set at 79mph.

Also one interesting difference from the old analog gauge is that fuel gauge reading is active even when the engine is off - so you can see the real time fuel increase as you fill up the tank in the gas station.

Call me old fashioned, but I do like that little analogue clock between the main dials, so I've set that as well.
