Does bootmod3 stage 2 fix cel for downpipe?
Hello I have a 2014 bmw 335i M-sport running vrsf 5' hd core intercooler, catless downpipe, and chargepipe. I also have the bms cold air intake. I been running stage 2 and still have the check engine light saying my car is running rich. I'm trying to diagnose the issue but having a hard time. Car runs a wierd in comfort but with WOT runs like a dream I think.... anybody can help?

bm3 removes the CEL for catless downpipe, but it won't allow you to pass emissions. Are you on stock tune now?

Ah I missed that part. This means that your CEL is not due to the catless DP. Something else is going on. Did you run the diagnostic and log?

I have logs yeah but for me to look at them and know what to actually look for is beyond me lol. I have some knowledge. The thing is when I'm stage 1 I don't get the running rich code I get the code for the catless downpipe saying it's inefficient. But stage 2 makes me tune rich.

Try putting your stock intake back and clear the code to see if it goes away. Report back your findings. Thanks |

May be stupid, but make sure your O2 sensors aren’t swapped. Another thing to check for is leaks around the downpipe.
What fuel are you using? What version of the BM3 map are you using as well? Seems like there are a few EWG cars getting this issue with v6. |

I will check that after I switch the intake as I'm at work at the moment. I'm running stage 2 93 octane and yes I'm ewg and running version 6. But I just got a custom tune and it's still there so I'm checking the air intake as the tuner told me people can lose up to 25whp on a dyno because of the intake

So I fixed my issue from what it seems. I switched back to stock intake and cel hasn't come back on and not experiencing any weird stuff. Really gonna miss the intake sound :

Just get a nice filter then enjoy the extra power and smoother running car. I too miss the woosh of the BMS Intake, but Jesus Christ did that thing only throw codes and made my car run like shit.

Yeah maybe somewhere down the road. I or maybe I'll play with the bms and try to seal where I believe the fitment is trash which is where it slips into the boot and the maf sensor fitment has space and could be leaking there too. Ugh lol
