Hey everyone! I'm having an issue with my navigation currently.

It is not displaying the correct current location, it's about 40-50 kilometres north of where it should be.

The map moves as I drive, & is otherwise completely functional, it's just way off from where it should be.

I have tried rebooting iDrive by holding the volume power button, letting the car sit, etc etc & it hasn't corrected itself.

I have a 2017 F32 440i with iDrive 5.0 on version MB-003.010.003. I'll be going into the dealership in the next 2 weeks to get my summers mounted, I'm just curious if anyone has had anything similar happen to them!

thanks for the reply, a pit stop at the dealership is definitely needed. I'm curious to see if anyone has experienced anything similar!

welp I jumped the gun a bit on this one!! upon further investigation;
-I went to my maps
-pressed options
-then at the bottom it says 'Position & Software Version'.
-I clicked on this & manually entered my current location, lo & behold, back to normal.

I have no idea as to how it got so wonky in the first place! Still something to bring up during my dealership visit!

Makes no sense that you need to manually enter your position, lol.

Defeats the whole purpose of the GPS system.

Yeah it is very odd, after i manually entered my position it reset to the same thing as before; about 40 kilometres too far north on my GPS versus my actual location.

I'm getting the car in on Tuesday for diagnostics so I will follow up then. My SA said it likely is just a software update.

Maybe they have an "offset" for the location to calibrate the GPS? Your default offset may be incorrectly set... . I agree with the SA, probably just need to do a software update/calibration.

little update, turns out it was NOT the electronics glitching on their own because of a software update; I got a gloss black roof wrap installed, & unfortunately the fin wasn't sealed 100% so over time water worked it's way in underneath.

so freakin annoying. the dealership told me a new fin is definitely in order, hopefully i'll get it under warranty!

I wouldn't hold my breath on the warranty, as the problem was caused by wrapping the roof. That doesn't qualify as a defect in materials or workmanship, at least not on the part of BMW.

yeah i'm being realistic, but my detail guy is an awesome dude & is willing to work with me on it. keeping my fingers crossed everything goes smoothly that's all
