How would I go connecting this device to my X3? Have anyone here done this?

That's a good question. My hunch is that there is a custom cable you'd need, and perhaps some other electronics, and that may or may not work. The car communicates with the charger normally.

Alternatively I've seen some forum members rig up a third party USB wireless charger.

Coding change too, if you want the warning to come on to tell you that you have left your phone in the charger.
