Found this inside the right side in the cargo area. What is that for ?

I'm not able to check our M40i right now, kahuna001, but typing in that part number on the ETK site shows it does have something to do with the Rt trunk area.

Check this out - looks like part number 23 "Support for lashing eye". I used the imprinted part number on the back rather than the printed slip. https://www.etkbmw.com/bmw/EN/search...22/51477441111

Since I'm not able to check our M40i right now can't assist in what it does, but a call to your Svc Dept should solve the riddle. Let us know.
