Display unit SOLD (Singapore)

My BMW dealer told me that I had to wait until July 2018 to get my car. How on earth was I going to get a good night's sleep until then?

Also, my trade-in vehicle which is a BMW 216d Gran Tourer would still be depreciating during that time, making it a worse deal.

Eventually, I offered to take their un-driven display model. But I had to compromise on the choice of leather colour. Even then, they still insist that I wait until July until their new stocks arrive as they wanted to keep this on display. I told them that I would walk away then!

So now, if all things go smoothly, I should be the proud owner by the end of next week. I'll try to post the photos once they have put on my registration plate.

Here's some photos of the one in question. As you can see, our car prices in Singapore are freakin' INSANE! Singapore $309800 is about USD 233,000.

Congrats. This must be the same model that was displayed at the Jan motorshow. I also acquired the preview 30i model as I wanted the Panaromic roof without having to wait for a special indent model. My 30i unit also comes with higher spec with Galvanic embellishment n display key.

But check the Vin no. as the unit is most probably built around June 2017.

Porsche Cayenne

Especially for you......

3.0 (A)
SGD $343,488 (w/o COE)

8-speed (A) Tiptronic S 2.9 (A)
SGD $433,988 (w/o COE)

8-speed (A) Tiptronic S Turbo 4.0 (A)
SGD $607,188 (w/o COE)

COE is a Certificate of Entitlement that we have to bid for. It's a 10 year certificate which has to be purchased with a vehicle. Current bidding is at about $38,000 this month.

Congrats to you bro! Did you manage to negotiate a better deal for your display car?

Personally, I don't like cars with a sunroof anymore. I've had bad experiences with them. The worst part is when they eventually start leaking!

Yes, the display key n galvanic embellishment which cost approx. $1200 n $700 plus was adsorb by the dealer. Was also given higher trade in, COE rebate of $44k n preferential interest rate then .

Just took a closer look at your photo from the Singapore Motorshow. The leather on the M40i looks totally different to the one I signed up for. Fingers crossed.

Congrats on your new vehicle, that's a great color. prices in Singapore make every luxury car in the States look like a relative bargain. the price multiplier is at least 3.5x compared to here.

No , the 30i comes without it worldwide, have been trying to source it from the local dealer but to no avail. The even checked with BMW AG in Munich n they say that no such part exist in Europe. There isn’t any part no. Available Until one of the bros here found a source for it.

Will try to source again.

Hi all you Singaporeans here. Just returned to UK after a stint there. Bought a lovely 640i coupe there from performance motors, best car I’ve had so far! Lost a 100k when I sold it though🤕

Driven it for a few days - awesome

After endless amounts of sleepless nights, I've finally got my hands on it. I managed to collect it over the weekend. Now I still can't sleep and always find a reason to go back out and sit inside it for no reason.

My only concern now is how am I going to ensure I don't lose my driving license.

hood/bonnet insulation

hi i'm waiting on my 30i M Sport and asked my sales rep to include the hood/bonnet insulation but he was unwilling, saying it wasn't an option - just a part i could order if i wanted.

any idea if it's available as an aftermarket item i could get elsewhere instead of from PML?

thanks!

CONGRATS. LOOKS AWESOME.

I did visit Performance motors in Alexandra Road. Was really surprised on how they have speced the standard vehicle, considering the premium pricing. Surprising that they have left out several features that is standard on the base Expedition version in India. Like the panoramic sunroof, acoustic glazing, active grill and a few others. I got mine here in India for SGD 100,000

The specs are very different, yours is a 2l 4 cyl x- line version without the m suspension , brakes n sport steering etc. It’s alao on 19” instead of 21”.

$200,000 for X3 M40i? This is crazy... Even in China it's only $90,000 or so.

I had to sign a form at my dealer promising I wouldn't drive my new M40i to Vancouver, load it in a container and export it to Singapore or China. People make $30k/car paying cash and exporting. So long as the engine displacement is 3 liters or less.
