Chargepipe DIY - CTSTurbo CP detailed DIY, now with zipties!

Hi all,
Recently (sort of) installed a yet to be released (next week) CTS Turbo chargepipe in my 335i

Here's another one of my extremely detailed, long winded posts about the install. Enjoy and please share any and all feedback, let me know if it helped!

Do you know if the CTS charge pipe will be available in a manual version that doesn't have the vacuum port?

Probably not when it can just be capped. There are also more automatic cars than manuals so I highly doubt they would make a cp specifically for a manual car it would make no economic sense.

VRSF and ER both make a manual version with no vacuum port. From a purely economic standpoint, it's less expensive to make the manual version.

I you're manual and plan on going 20+ PSI, it's nice to have one less thing to worry about (the cap blowing off).

Cap on the FTP is screw in do it will not pop out. Non issue. Cheaper than fabbing and powdercoating a separate pipe for a manual car when one can fit all just like aftermarket intake manifolds.

If you look closely, their website shows it both ways: a screw-in bolt and a clamp-on rubber cap.

There was a member here that did an FTP charge pipe install video; his car was manual and he had the clamp-on rubber cap on his.

https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1452995

If I knew for certain I could get the screw-in bolt option from FTP, I'd order both their CP and TIC pipes.

I currently have ER CP and TIC pipe and neither fit on the VRSF Race intercooler I have.

To complicate things even further, I'll be running meth on the car, so I'll need two meth bungs - which is what caught my eye with this CTS unit (the VRSF CP only has one or I'd go that direction).

To your other point, it's cheaper to make a dedicated manual version; I'm not sure where you're coming from.

Have you seen the VRSF and ER manual versions? They're just smooth pipes with no holes.

The auto version is more expensive to make because it requires more cutting and fabbing.

There are actually 4 versions in ERs and VRSFs lineup

Xi / RWD

MT / AT
