So i decided to ditch the holder and just stick the sticks in the vent, low to no profile

Good idea as the holder always drop out.

But how do you close the vent?

you can still close it its not obstructing anything, sits in the same as if u had the holder

After about 3 days, these give me a sore throat and a cough. Same thing that perfume/cologne does to me.

well these are kind of dead already haha have to buy new ones. i mostly drive with the windows down so i just get them just for sake, scent up the car when its parked
