M Performance 2 wheel warranty claim?

So my M Performance 2 pro wheel is starting to show some leather fading, on both the top stripe and the normal black leather..

It has just over a years warranty left, is it worth even trying to claim or am I being a bit of an arse?

I never use any products other than a damp cloth on the leather, and the alcantara bits I just use BMW's own alcan cleaning foam.

Did you self install?

As ridiculous as it sounds, Dealers in USA will not warranty unless they installed.

And no, you are not being an arse, especially if only using their cleaner.

Ah crap, yeah I did.

I bought it from a dealership in Scotland as they offer a substantial amount of discount at their parts store. I'll check with them today and see how it differs, the only thing I can remember them telling me is that they wouldn't warrant damage to the car with it being made for the M cars, for Series cars.
