Stable Mates

Tucked away in garage w/ Wife's G37. Her dark gray Infiniti looks like silver compared to X3's Dark Graphite.

Looks great! Almost went with dark graphite myself, but after two grey cars previously, we changed it up to carbon black. I really like how the mirror caps and grill contrast with the dark colors.

This is where remote parking would come in handy.

It's where living in QLD would come in handy!

Bwhahaha. I am still laughing. That is the smallest garage I've ever seen. I'm so so sorry. How did you get out of your car?? You car looks really good though (smells like diesel ;-) ). I see now your euro plates.

I rented a VW wagon in Barcelona last year and scraped the smack out of the side of it trying to get into private parking spot. Terrible situation as wife and daughters were in car.. going side to side, expostulating and carrying on. Then scraaaaaape, recriminations, tears. Wife told me to suck it up, stop crying and walk it off.

Here in 'Merica. We have a bit more space. We built a house 2 years ago. Garage is roughly 32' wide, 28' deep. 3 decent sized stalls and extra deep (average is 20' deep). It's not small, but there are larger ones out there.

I don't mean to brag and carry on. Your photo is pretty amazing though. Makes me appreciate all the space we have here.

Edit/ Update: Sydney? WTF. I thought you guys had more space than we do?! Think you missed the garage and ended up in the kangaroo stable. ;-)
Edit/Update2: Scratch 'WTF', insert 'Crikey!'

We have a ton of space, but for various (genuine) reasons we are mostly crammed into just a handful of cities, in fact, most of us live in just 3. The fact that a lot of the county is desert is a factor!

So a 10m frontage like mine is increasingly 'generous' when you are close to the city centre. That said, if I'd been designing my house (I didn't) I think it could have benefited from just an extra foots width, or the garage dug under. Alas, I bought it already built and everything else stacked up.

But yes, I did post the image for giggles as it's pretty much as small a function space as possible. I park such that I have to get out VERY carefully on my side, but the other side can open doors properly and everyone else goes that way.
