M2 Competition Allocations Per Quarter?

Does anyone know how many allocations per quarter dealers will receive? Maybe three, one per month? Any idea?

I think pricing needs to be released first. USA pricing has not been released yet.

I think sometime in May USA pricing will be released and in June allocations will come in for the first round.

They won’t make anymore M2 Competitions than they did 2016-2018 M2’s.

BMW would not delay production of all the other cars made at the Leipzig Plant. i3, i8, 2er, 3er coupe, 2er four doors, and the small active tourer are all built there.

Matter of fact there might be less M2 Competitions produced than 16-18 M2’s. Would be interesting to see what the numbers are at the end.

I totally agree. They make way more $$$ on the grocery getters.

I doubt it. M2 production ramped up slow. Now that they have already ramped up N55 M2 production it's likely they will come out at a faster rate than they did in 2016 and 2017. I don't have the numbers on hand but they probably produced more MY18 M2s than MY17 M2s. So a two year run of M2C will probably be as many or more cars than total N55 M2s. MY16 run was short.

They made over 40% more M2's than planned pre launch. The M2 Comp will be no different. They will make as many as physically possible.
Wow that's nice. What if only 7500 cars
a year worldwide is physically possible for the next two years but there are 20,000 buyers ?

Hey Mr customer .. while you are waiting for us to get an M2 allocation.. we do have those M4 on the lot. ... can make you a killer deal ... will be happening.

Define " make as many as physically as possible " ... in a numerical figure if you are so confident.

I agree with chmura production will still be outstripped by demand , because BMW isn't prepared to build M2 like Lay's can build potato chips. "We'll make more ".

Who knows what will happen with the M2 at the end of the cycle. There is often a gap at the end of a cycle which means that there may not be a successor to the M2 Comp for a year or so after M2 production stops. In this case there wouldn't be any "Competition" to drive down the price.

Just as with the "CURRENT" M2, I had the "do you want a M4 with £10k off list while you wait two years to get the M2. I said to said dealer Im ok, I will wait a bit longer and get a big discount on an M2 if the M2 Comp isnt released soon....roll on 8months later I got almost 20% off an M2

I said then and will say now, demand will subside and you will be able to get a discount on the new M2 Comp near the end of its lifecycle AND get one if you want one. Please quote me in 20 months time if you cannot.
you are quite welcome!

Clearly, then you are in AGREEMENT that BMW is not producing enough to keep up with demand... and you are just parroting BM's empty promises..
SQUAWK... they will make make as many as possible.. SQUAWK!

and yes.. through BMW's FAILURE to keep up with demand... eventually buyers will go elsewhere... and it's very possible that customer passion for the product will fade, ( just as occurred with demand for the 2018 M2.) especially once a 718 Cayman GT4 arrives..

This is absolutely the strategy.. because BMW wants to sell M3 and M4 more than M2.

PS.. I don't want an M2 comp ..

The answer is it will vary by dealer. Some dealers are M Certified dealers and they will get more than non certified dealers. I don’t think that anyone other than BMWNA knows.

With the same quarter model, seems reasonable to expect dealer allocations proportional to their M2 numbers. Can probably extrapolate after knowing differences in M2 vs M2C numbers for a few dealers.

If I remember correctly the first batch(July-Sept) of North American M2C allocations was 512. 4th quarter(Oct-Dec) allocations should be available soon. I’d expect similar allocation number.

Hoping this is true. My build has been sitting in the order bank since mid-July.

From a different thread. Some dealers got their regular model allocations in and other M cars. But no M5/M2 allocations yet. They should start to trickle in.

I'm also waiting for an allocation. I put a reservation in a few weeks ago, sounds like I did it just in time.
