Best Mode for Everyday driving

So what's the mode you use for every day driving? Lately I've been switching between comfort mode in D and comfort mode in S, sometimes in M. Their's also sport in D, S or M and sport + in D, S or M. I like how the exhaust valve opens at 4K RPM in comfort (I have MPPSK). Not much difference in power though, only notice more pickup in sport and sport+.

Eco Pro for 90% of my apprx 1.2 hr daily commute (I am one of those who had it coded on start up because im in gridlock from practically door to door lol)
10% is between comfort w/ sport steering and sport mode

If at all in a major rush its sport with shifter as i find throttle response is quicker making it easier to snake through

Weekends all sport alone and with the gf - except when with my Mum lol

That said, i've always wondered if switching bw modes frequently during one trip has any negative effects...?

I hope you at least turn off auto start-stop! I find it incredibly annoying in stop n go traffic.

Sport on the freeway, comfort on city streets with DSC disabled (to tighten up steering but still have auto-start-stop enabled for traffic lights)

Comfort, Drive, most of the time. I throw it in sport in the hills and on winding roads, or when doing an onramp blast but operation in 'Drive', comfort mode is seamless. Driving in sport all the time is just weird - it holds gears too long, its not smooth, etc. More sensitive right foot? sure, but all in, comfort/drive is where its at. Smoooooth operator. Otherwise if you're that hung up on it, you should have special ordered the unicorn manual so you could be real precious about all your gear changes. I don't need lighting fast gear changes you can actually 'feel' when I'm going about my daily commute. Sport is excellent when called for, but otherwise, its honestly a disservice to the driving experience, in my opinion. Sport+ and manual mode is cool but again, if you are that concerned about it, why not get the ol' lever, 3rd pedal action and row your own all day? I get pretty board flicking the little paddles around after about 5 min unless I am really carving up a mountain road, which is like 3 times a year.

How do you achieve comfort with sport steering? The only answer I'd found was to have sport mode set to disable the transmission changes so only affected steering - but that would leave me without sport mode.

This. I’ve hardly even used the paddle shifters and likely need to brush up on them in the instruction manual before I try them again. Comfort is perfect for me. I’ve used Sport a few times but it’s not my regular mode for driving on the highway.

I have MPPSK so I'm in Comfort/D if I'm on the freeway or typically if I have a passenger or two. Normal city driving when I'm by myself, I'm in Sport+/M because it's easier to stay in a particular RPM range to avoid the drone of MPPSK.

This is the first and only car I've ever used the paddle shifters/manual mode on. I've had them on my last 3 cars and thought they were pointless but once I got the MPPSK I use them basically every day. Makes me miss having that third pedal sometimes!

No need for the owner's manual. The (+) paddle shifts up, and the (-) one shifts down.

Wear comfy, non-restrictive clothing, adjust climate control settings appropriately for the current conditions, adjust your seat to your liking, and last but not least, adjust the steering wheel to your preference.

335i Mppk & mpe 6mt. For long commutes, I use eco pro. For around town, sport, for some spirited driving I go sport plus. I really like the eco pro mode, I’m getting 30mpg on long trips. Most of the time, I can’t go above 60, so 6th gear w cruise control works great and burns less fuel. Speaking of cruise control, I love the steering wheel controls for cruise control, as most of you know, a firm press up or down and it’ll change speed by 5mph or a light tap for +/- 1 mph. Such a convienent feature!

Same, but I keep DSC on. Sports mode + city streets + 6MT = ridiculous. But on the highway it's nice to have the sharper throttle response when passing people.

What is the difference between S and D ?

I understand M is manual and that the rocker switch will change from Eco-Comfort-Sport but what is the difference between operating in S vs D within all three of these modes?

S will shift at higher rpm than D and also shows what gear you're in on the gauge cluster. The sport in D and sport+ in D also have higher shift points. When in S if you execute a manual shift it will stay in M until you shift back into D vs a paddle shift in D only puts you in M temporarily.

I usually stay in comfort from start till the engine is fully warmed up. After that I usually go to Sport with the shifter in D. I think this car nailed it with this combo as I love how sporty it is to daily drive without holding gears way to long and being jerky when setting off.

When hitting some back roads or if I just want to have some extra fun I occasionally go full Sport+ with shifter in manual mode and have some fun with the paddles.

If I am on the highway for more than 20 miles with light traffic I go into Eco Pro.
