My BAD Experience with Bimmer Masterpieces

Just sharing my experience in case any of you guys are thinking of ordering from them.

On April 23rd I placed an order for the clear coated carbon side markers. They have two versions. The dry carbon and the clear coated carbon. I wanted the clear coated one because it would match the rest of the M Performance carbon parts I have installed.

On April 25th, I got an email from Bimmer Masterpieces saying that the part has to be made and will ship on May 8th. I said, "okay, no problem. I'll wait"

On May 7th I got another email from them saying that delivery time is too long for the clear coated version because they can only do orders of 75pcs at a time and there aren't enough orders. They suggested that I purchase the "much more fashionable" dry carbon version instead... I told them that I don't want the dry carbon version and asked for a refund. After this I noticed that the clear coated version was removed from their website.

After 3 days of waiting for a refund and receiving no response, I decided to file a Paypal claim. As of right now, Bimmer Masterpieces emailed me back and said they are not able to give me a refund because Paypal froze the account and they can't access it.

So, just a warning to you guys. I don't know if Bimmer Masterpieces are scammers or I just had a bad experience by ordering a part they don't stock. I can't imagine the other items on their website being much more popular. But I do know I'm not ordering from them again because of this experience.

Email their CEO, called Gjait Kuperus at info@bimmermasterpieces.com

He was really helpful and sorted me out when I had a few issues with them last year.

That's the address they contacted me from. Their secretary, Anna v/d Mei, is who replies from it. I think I just gotta wait the 20 days until Paypal takes action, because Bimmer Masterpieces isn't helpful at all.

Sad to hear it. I have one of their speedo/tach casings and everything went very smoothly and shipping didn't take very long.

They're definitely not scammers

Imho, just a bit inexperienced as a result of being a new and small company tailoring a very niche market segment

I know the CEO Gjalt Kuperus personally, living half an hour from where I live. We meet up sometimes drive around in a group of M2s and drink coffee etc.

Definitely not a scammer and a very serious man and reliable company.

So I can not and do not see the purpose of this thread and thread title.....

Cheers

Maybe they aren't scammers and I spoke too soon, but either way, their paypal account is lock and I haven't received a refund from them yet and it's been 2 weeks since they told me they no longer sell the item and I asked for a refund.

I know you're defending you're friend/acquaintance but I think your last comment was unnecessary. I believe the purpose of the thread was to warn and help others, and I appreciate it.

I'm not claiming your friend is a scammer, but I use PayPal a lot and from my experience; they don't lock someone's account just because someone want's a refund. There is a process and each party is given a chance to work things out. Maybe there is more to the story than we know.

Bring this issue up with your friend.

Maybe it will help the OP.

No experience with this vendor, but I have bought numerous (including similar item as OP) from IND. Never had any major issues that were their fault...wish I could say the same for other vendors on this forum.

I use PayPal as a customer and also as a seller(my business) and I will tell you, PayPal is no and I will repeat no neutral entity. They are not the 'law'.

Just because PayPal does some things doesn't mean some business/person/company is to distrust....

The internet is filled with claims against PayPal.

Yeah, I do actually agree with you. Some would argue they are more against the sellers. I've experienced it both ways as a buyer and seller myself. When I said we may not know the whole story, I was meaning from both sides. I can't really argue against your point. We just have to see how it plays out. Hopefully it will work out for both parties.

I had a very similar experience with them ! I won't buy from that site at all.

Then be aware as they are sending virus via email to buyers who complain about their services.

It's a shame ! I wish I can prove it. Be aware!!

I have all the emails and proof of around at least 40 emails asking for refund since day one and then I received an email just sent to me about a new product and when I opened the antivirus kicked in and blocked the threat.
