Auto Mechatronic sleeve replacement?!

Why is it always the simple jobs that turn into the hardest. Im in the middle of changing the gearbox filter and oil and I cant get the mechatronic sleeve out.
The process of changing it is fairly straight forward but I cant get the damned thing out of the location as there's no room.
I tried to take off the exhaust bracket but it wont come off as the bottom bolt doesn't come out far enough.
Do I need to drop the gearbox just to get this out and put the new sleeve in?!

If anyone in future is wondering- the gearbox mount has to come off and then you can remove the exhaust braket.
After that it's easy.

They are prone to leaking on the 6speed auto box. If you're changing the filter and fluid etc it's worth doing at the same time.
Mine was leaking a little which I didn't realise until the car was jacked up when I was working on the engine.

Yeah the car has to be level to get the right amount of oil in the gearbox. Its a pain doing it laying on your back under the car but isn't too difficult.
