Suspension noises after lowering springs installed.. Advice please!
I've got a 2012 f30 328i (sport line). I installed Godspeed traction springs that lowered my car 1.25". I did not change/adjust the stock bump stops. I double checked the installation, and retorqued all the bolts, etc.
My issue is this: there are clunks/rattles when going over small imperfections. The noises come from all 4 corners, but especially from the front. The noises are noticeable when the shock unloads as well. It kind of sounds like a looseness/rattle/clunk but I know everything is back in place, and tightened up. After I went for a test drive and heard these noises, I removed the wheels and rechecked the torque of the bolts, etc. 1: Are the springs just settling into their "seats? 2: Do the spring rubbers need any lube? 3: Are the stock bump stops causing this? 4: Could the coils be rubbing and causing this? |
