Will Variable Light Distribution (VLD) work on US spec M2?

As the tile suggests, will Variable Light Distribution work on the US spec M2's easily?

If it's like the current M3/M4, then coding will manage it.

BIMMERCODE

Coding for 8S4 (VLD):

Front Electronic Module > Expert Mode >

3073 LaMaster1 > LUT_FLC_FORWARDLIGHTING_Y > 9C,9C,9C (Both)

3073 LaMaster1 > C_AFS_ENA > Enable (Both)

Coding for 5AP (GFHB):

Front Electronic Module > Expert Mode >

3073 LaMaster1 > C_HBA_ENA > Enable (Both)

3073 LaMaster1 > C_HBA_GRHB_ENA > Highway_Standby_AFS

3073 LaMaster1 > C_HBA_ADAPT_SHUT_ENA > Enable

Note: You'll see two blue check marks next to some of these. Press the top one. It will uncheck the one below it. Now you can enable one of the two 'enable' options (if there are two). Back out. Go back in. Both correct selections should have the blue check mark next to them.

Yes, just option the Adaptive LED and code for Anti Dazzle. I don’t see it being any different from every other model. Anti Dazzle is quite nice.

OP was asking about VLD which isn't the same as anti dazzle (GFHB). They're not interchangeable terms.

Thanks for the clarification, will GFHB be programmable on the M2 competition for the US market, no standard, but can you enable it later?

As long as the ECU/DME doesn't have some brand new encryption no ones seen before then yes you'll be able to enable it right away. If it's new then you'll have to wait till someone cracks it.

I assume it will be identical to the outgoing M3/M4 so you should be good to go.

Last I looked into it, VLD yes, anti Dazzle? Well some say FOR SURE you can code it, other say FOR SURE you can't and you are just shining high beams at other drivers. The people who say it does work seem to be driving around a little bit and then say from the perspective of the driver seat it works perfect. They didn't bother to ask the other drivers though.

One forum member tested it with a friend driving in front of him and the friend said it was fine. Obviously you should take everything said on here with a grain of salt though.

I have it coded in for fun but hardly ever use it as my M2 is not my DD and I almost never drive it at night.

The current understanding of GFHB (among those of us who have been messing with the settings on NAR-spec M2s with adaptive LEDs) is that the NAR-spec LED headlight modules are missing the proper micro-shutters to correctly mask out "windows" with the lights.

You can turn it on, it seems to work, but you're probably blinding/glaring other people, which makes you an asshole.

If you swap your headlights for ROW-spec, then you'd probably be fine... at a cost of $thousands.

VLD is fine and safe to enable though. Works nicely at lower speed, spreads lower and wider and helps you see stuff in the road or whatnot.

So I'm not getting this with bimmercode.
I go into Front Electronic Module > Expert Mode >

3073 LaMaster1 > LUT_FLC_FORWARDLIGHTING_Y > and there is no 9c there are 4 things with the dot you can select but only one.

Am I missing something? I've used Bimmercode many times but never in Expert mode.

Thank you andrewc89 for the instructions. VLD is now activated in my car and I’m delighted with the improved illumination. I do a lot of cornering in my regular route and this fits the bill nicely!
