Car Details From VIN Number?

Is it possible to find out from the VIN number if a car is an Efficient Dynamics model or not?

Not by directly reading it.
Probably from the model year number (digit 10)and the serial number (digit 12 to 17) it might then be possible to trace it if you knew when the 1st serial number applied.

Do you have the car already? There are a number of ways to check if you have the car. To check from the VIN number will need dealer help.

Thanks guys.

I eventually phoned up BMW UK and from the last 7 digits of the VIN number they gave me all the optional extras etc that the non BMW dealer hasn't mentioned. Turns out it is pre-ED so hopefully will be able to knock him down a bit.

Its currently on at 20k for a E91 SE 330i Manual 7k miles, that sound like a reasonable price?
