Steering wheel making creaking noise - comes and goes

I bought a CPO F30 a month ago, and it has since developed this creaking noise that happens when I turn the steering wheel to the left.

It comes and goes and appears to be the loudest on hot days when I start the car. Frustratingly, by the time I take the car to the dealership, which is a 20 minute drive away, the noise gets barely audible or goes away and they tell me they can't reproduce the issue!

What could be the cause of this?

Id start with lubricating everything that moves under drivers side footwell.

Sounds like a piece of vinyl from the steering while is scraping against a mating part. I did this on an Audi once because there was a rubbing sound. I know what cause it too. I opened a granola bar while I was driving and a piece of a wrapper fell in the space.

I took a thin dish towel and inserted it in the space between where the wheel is mounted and pulled the dowel back and forth a few times and the wrapper piece popped out. Maybe give that a try all around the wheel space.
