Winter Setup

I only have ~400kms on my new baby but winter is already on my mind. Wanted to ask what's your winter setup? What do you recommend?

Some large threads on this subject already. Personally I went with the stock BMW 640M winter set, tires are 255/40/18 square setup, which fits perfectly. Bought them cheaply from a forum member who was getting rid of his M4

Same as above - 640M set. Never had a problem here in the prairies with them.
However I will be selling my winter setup so PM if interested OP.

I went with SimplyTire's 18" replica set, X-Ice3 245-40/18 around $1800 for the set and they worked well enough in the snow.

18" 270m wheels from an M3 and Michelin Alpin PA4. Works like a charm.

I run OE 437M with Contis Wintercontact TS830.
Stock tire sizes 245/35/19 F and 265/35/19 R.

Has anyone done a similar setup:
255/40/18 R and 225/45/18 F

Would that work?

That's about the only picture I can find at the moment. There wasn't a lot of clearance but there weren't any issues. They are pretty cheap wheels but for winter use I was pretty happy with them.

I was certainly looking forward to switching back to summers around Mid-April (but did end up waiting till late April).
